Chairman's Letter to Non-Members PDF Print E-mail

Dear Fellow Producer,

JOIN AND RECEIVE HIGHER PRICES!

WAMMCO International is a Co-operative registered under the Western Australian Co-operatives Act 1943, and whose main reason for existing is to provide active producer members with maximum benefits.

As a Co-operative we are able to take advantage of unique provisions under taxation law relating to Cooperatives, subject to meeting certain provisions. One of these is that we must transact a minimum of 90% of our business with our members.

We have fallen short of this target and have been unable to take advantage of these provisions, resulting in us paying additional tax which, in turn, reduces the cash available to pay our producers.

The problem can be easily overcome by non members agreeing to become members by taking up 100 x $1 shares. Payment can be deducted from a livestock payment. Not only will this help ensure more money is available to producers; it will also bring you full Co-operative membership benefits.

One immediate benefit will be higher livestock prices as we must now introduce reduced prices to non-members to cover the loss incurred when we purchase from them and, as a result, fail to achieve the 90% membership requirement required by the Tax Act.

Membership in no way affects the way you chose to sell your stock; be it through an agent or direct, on farm or over the scales. Neither are you committed to supply the Co-operative; it simply ensures all involved in selling their livestock to the Co-operative receive the maximum benefit.

Co-operative membership also enables producers to participate and benefit in all aspects of their industry.

I urge you to become a member and immediately start to benefit through the higher prices available to members.

Yours sincerely,

DAWSON BRADFORD

Chairman
